*Football: There will be a meeting for all students in grades 9-11 who may be interested in playing football next year. Please go to the forum room after lunch TODAY. (Friday, January 21) We would love to see new and old faces at the meeting. 

Announcements for January 19:
* Friday morning PASS will be in the art room with Mrs. Mentjes.

* The 2022 Spelling Bee Champion is seventh grade student Austin Luckey! After 10 rounds of stiff competition from Meta Schutte (8th), Riley Carlson (8th), Ben Perreault (7th), Alivia Levi (8th), Dice Gray (6th), Michael Vaneps (6th), and Christian Pahl (7th), Austin came back to win. Meta Schutte finished in 2nd place and Riley Carlson finished in 3rd with Ben Perreault in a very close 4th. Austin will be moving on to the preliminary regional competition at Southeast Services Cooperative on Feb. 8. Good luck Austin!

Announcements for January 18:
*Pine Island Trap Team- Registration information for the spring trap shooting season is now available. Please stop by Mr. Smith's room for the informational packet and registration materials. All materials are due Friday, February 25th.
The trapshooting team is available to both boys and girls grades 6th-12 who have successfully passed their hunter's safety course prior to March 15th. An informational meeting will be held for 6th graders on Wed during their recess.

*Student Council is hosting an Olympic Opening Ceremony dance for 7th and 8th graders on Friday, February 4th from 7 PM to 9 PM at the elementary school cafeteria. Tickets are $4 or a donation of three cans of food for the Pine Island Sharing Shelves. Wear what you would wear to the Olympic Opening Ceremonies: either the colors of the country's flag that you're supporting (like red, white, and blue for Team USA) or semi-formal attire. Student Council members will be selling tickets during lunch on Thursday, February 3rd and Friday, February 4th if you want to buy your tickets in advance. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Mark your calendars!

*Pine Island Trap Team- Mr. Smith will have an informational meeting for all 6th-grade students interested in joining the trapshooting team on Wed Jan 19th during recess- 11:15 in the forum room. If you plan on shooting trap this spring please attend the meeting.

Rolling schedule; 60 minute group, and then return to class for the remainder. Cait will provide passes for excused absences.

 *REMINDER - Students that are leaving during the day need to stop in the office before school or between classes to pick up a blue pass to show their teacher. Picking up the pass and showing the teacher when it is time to leave is the student's responsibility.


*The Fitness Center will be open from 6:30-7:30am and 3:30pm – 5:00pm for students who would like to work out. A current Fitness Center permission needs to be signed to be in there. This is for grades 7-12. Fitness Center Permission Form

The Fitness Center will be open Monday-Friday 6:30am-7:30am and 3:30pm-5:00pm.

Please look at Fitness Center door (and online) for weekly plan (coaches may bring in teams on certain days)
