*Post Prom and PTO have teamed up for a Love Your Melon fundraiser. Samples of the hats are in the window of the 5-12 office. Beanie $40, Pom Beanie $50

*Mark your Calendar: Pine Island Post Prom Pizza Sales Saturday, March 28th from 10am-2pm. Junior class members will be going door to door or stop by the Fire Hall to pick something up. A variety of pizzas, soups and mini donuts will be available.


Announcements for March 9th:

*Boy's in grades 9-12 track and field meet in the forum room after school before practice.

Girls in grades 9-12 track and field meet in Mrs. Northrop's room after school before practice. 

Reminder: Track and Field PAC (parent athlete coach) meeting is at 6 pm TODAY after the first varsity practice. This will take place directly after the first day of varsity practice at the K4


*There will be a meeting for all Varsity and JV basketball players in Coach Nelsons room at 3:15 on Wednesday.  Bring your clean uniforms and practice gear to be turned in.

 

*Attention Juniors and Seniors Parents

Save the Date: Saturday, May 2nd for an Enchanted Evening

Prom invitations are now available to pick up from your Power 25 teacher.  Online tickets will be sold from March 9th through April 17th. Cost is 75 dollars per person. Post Prom tickets sold separately. Watch for more details in the upcoming weeks. If you have any questions please see Ms. Zielinski or Mrs. Hunskor

 

*This is the last week of the Middle School coin wars!  This year all proceeds will go to Paws and Claws Humane Society.  This goes on between 7:45 AM to 8:00 AM each morning this week.

 

*Middle School Kickball Tournament will be Saturday, April 4th from 5pm to 9pm

Cost: 10 dollars and that is due March 27th

Prior Announcements:

*Calling ALL 5th-8th grade Artists!  VFW Art Contest - "Illustrating America" Theme.  Due March 30th.  See Mrs. Flaig for details

 

*Attention students (Grades 10-12): Pine Island High School will be offering the ASVAB test on Wednesday, March 25 at 8:00 a.m., in the Forum Room. The ASVAB is an aptitude test that measures strengths and weaknesses and predicts future academic and occupational success in the military.  Students interested in taking the test must sign up in the High School Office by Thursday, March 12th.  This can be a great opportunity for students looking at the military and/or students who would like to learn more about how their individual strengths and interests may translate into the work of work. 

 

*Seniors planning to attend RCTC in the fall will have the opportunity to take the Accuplacer test at PIHS on Wednesdday, April 8th.  There is no cost to take the exam, however, students must submit an application for admission to RCTC prior to the testing date. For students planning to take the Accuplacer, there will be an info session on Wednesday, March 11th in the Forum Room at 9:00 a.m. Students can sign up for the assessment in the high school office or by contacting Ms. Garcia.

*Track & Field  Shoe Sale/Swap – Do you have gently used spikes? Has your athlete grown out of las year’s? Set a price and bring them to the PAC meeting to send them home with someone new! Sale will take place March 2nd after the PAC meeting. Fill out this link if you are bring shoes to the sale/swap:

 *7th-12th grade spring sports registration is available OPEN for baseball, golf, softball, boy's and girl's track and field. 

All athletes must have an updated sports physical on file at the school. Sports physicals are good for 3 years.

If you feel you are close or have reached the family max of $425, do not register online and contact the office at 356-8326.


*The Pine Island Community Scholarship Application is now available!  This application allows Pine Island seniors to apply for numerous scholarships offered by local businesses and organizations - there really is something for everyone!  Application packets are due Thursday, March 26th.    

*Middle School YEARBOOK - Purchase one NOW thru March 1st to guarantee a copy!  Order online at jostens.com (Search for Pine Island Middle School) or send in a labeled envelope with a check or cash for $25.00 to Mrs. Flaig.  

*Student Parking Lot – All parking spots have been purchased. Please do not park in the student lot if you don’t have an assigned spot! If someone is parked in your spot – please take a picture of the license plate and bring it to the office so we can ask them to move. Thank you
