Britannica Middle School:  
Britannica Online School Edition gives teachers and students access to four encyclopedias that ensure consistency with classroom topics and age-appropriate language. Designed for all levels of learning, Britannica Online School Edition offers students a gateway to the resources of Encyclopaedia Britannica

Use EBSCO to search the following databases: 
Middle Search Plus:  Middle Search® Plus contains full text for more than 140 popular, middle school magazines. Full text is also available for thousands of biographies and historical essays, primary source documents, and reference books. An image collection of over 400,000 photos, maps, and flags is also included. 

KidsSearch: Helps elementary and middle school students find magazine and reference content from the Primary Search, Middle Search Plus, and Science Reference Center databases. In addition 
to periodicals covering numerous topics, these databases contain the full text of the American Heritage Children's Dictionary, Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, and the EBSCO 
Encyclopedia of Animals. Intended for grades 2-8. 

MasterFILE Premier:  Designed for public libraries and K-12 schools, MasterFILE Premier contains full text for 1,700 periodicals covering general reference, business, health, education, general science, multicultural issues, and much more. This database also contains full text for nearly 500 reference books, over 160,000 primary source documents, and an image collection of photos, maps, and flags.

Health Source®: Consumer Edition is a collection of consumer health information. This resource provides access to nearly 80 full-text, consumer health magazines; full text for current, health-related pamphlets; and more than 130 health reference books. 

Student Research Center:
Helps middle and high school students find magazine and journal articles, reference materials, and multimedia files covering all topics. Contains the following databases: Health Source-Consumer 
Edition; MAS Ultra-School Edition; Middle Search Plus; and Science Reference Center. Intended for grades 6-12.

Discovering Collection

The Discovering Collection is designed with the student in mind. It is comprised of more than 28,000 biographies, 18,000 overview essays, and more than 13,500 critical essays in core curriculum subjects. All of the information is pulled directly from Gale reference materials and explores literature, history, biography, science, and social studies with comprehensive content easily accessible by even the most novice researchers.

Expanded Academic ASAP

Expanded Academic ASAP® is comprised of more than 3,500 indexed and full-text titles—of which 2,100 are peer-reviewed—in all disciplines including social sciences, humanities, education, science, and technology. More than 20 years of backfile coverage and an intuitive interface expedite successful searches.

General Science Collection

General Science Collection contains over 200 journals covering the latest scientific developments in particle physics, advanced mathematics, nanotechnology, geology, and hundreds of other areas.


¡Informe! is a database reference tool providing indexing, images and full text of popular Hispanic magazines—not just translations. Also included is a thesaurus and interface that are uniquely designed for Spanish-speaking users.

InfoTrac Junior Edition

InfoTrac Junior Edition is designed especially for junior high and middle schools and features titles most critical to their libraries and curriculum including age-appropriate content from magazines, newspapers, and reference books. It contains over 300 full‐text general interest and curriculum‐related magazines, thousands of full‐text newspaper articles from USA Today, Knight‐Ridder/Tribune News Service, and United Press International; reference books; and broadcast transcripts.

Junior Reference Collection

With more than 17,000 biographies, topic overviews, plot summaries, and primary sources, the Junior Reference Collection is a one-stop database for in-depth coverage of middle grades curriculum subjects. It covers the most-studied subjects: science, literature, arts, biographies, and general reference among others and adheres to national standards while providing access from the classroom, library media center, or home.

Student Resources In Context

Student Resources In Context is designed for use by high school students for both homework and in-depth research assignments. It contains a searchable database of reference works, biographies, essays, overviews, primary works, images, and periodical articles from literary, science, health, history, and biography resources.
